Mrs. Bryant's Fourth Grade Homework
D.I.R.F.T. = DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
Purposes.
1. To reinforce or extend concepts learned in the classroom
2. To establish good work and study habits that will become lifelong skills.
3. To give parents the opportunity to stay informed regarding what their child is learning.
A Homework Planner will be given to each student at the beginning of each week. Each day your child will check
their homework planner to be sure they are prepared for that night's homework.
At home please help your child by reviewing their homework and their planner; and then
initial your child's planner.
Generally, homework will be given Monday - Thursday, unless a long-term project has been assigned
and they need to continue working at home.
Reading for pleasure should be a daily habit for about 20-40 minutes. It is expected that homework
will be completed in a quality manner, and turned in on time. Missed homework must be made up.
Homework will be graded for each subject.
You can view your child's grades at the link on the Madison Elementary School web page. Please let
me know right away if you have any concerns about your child's work.
Any grade lower than a 70 can be redone. However the best grade on a "redo" will only be a 70.
My philosophy is: Do It Right the First Time D. I. R. F. T.!!!
